I have often heard of online courses and just immediately thought what can be better? A person does not have to sit and listen to a lecture, and he or she can work at his or her own pace. However, having experienced a online course, it was forced me to stay focus and it was not as easy as I thought it to be. It was a challenge and wake up call that I so desperately needed in my life. I was set in the old way of how schooling use to be.Taking this class, opened up my eyes to the fact that it is so much in the world to gain using computers and technology. I was truly limited in my thinking before this class.
In the beginning of the course, I was very nervous. I did not know what to expect. It was all a new experience. I was use to using the computer and internet before, but having took the class, I have learned some much. I now know how to incorporate videos into a lesson. I know how to create a webquest. I loved using and watching the videoes from you tube.com. I also admire the fact of Dr. Luongo was available to walk me through assignments. I had a hard time senting my scholastic web page builder and Dr. Luongo was there to walk me through it.
I hope if I had to take another online course that the teacher is as caring, and always available as Dr. Luongo was. I finally got over my nervousness with each assignments. Thanks Dr. Luongo!

CLRN
Learning and be fun and information can be retained if information is presented in a way that students can relate to it. One online database that provide this information is CLRN. It gives teachers the opportunity to review and identify supplement electronic resources such as software, videos, and internet reources. A teacher can receieve this information either through a primary source or secondary source and give it to her students. How amazing!

Lesson plans
Its nothing worst than having a well planned lesson plan on paper, but when it is time to implement it, the teacher lacks the materials that is needed to fullfill the lesson. Believe it or not I have seen it all. Teachers not being prepared and running to other first grade classrooms because she doesnt have enough rulers, or number grids for all her children. Not only it is a waste of instructional time for the students, but also for the teacher. That is time that cant be regained back. So I believe that a teacher can never be too prepared even all the way to counting out all the necessary materials needed to carry out the lesson.

Videos
Out of all the videos that I watched in Moduled 8 and 9, I really found the video on Intoduction to the book very funny. While watching it, I compared it to computers. Most people are afraid to get on a computer and explore all it has to offer them just like the man who never knew how or tried to open the book the correct way. Once someone shown the man in the video how to use the book, it was easy. The same could be said for computers. Once someone show a person how to use the computer, it show become easier and easier the next time.
Social Networking
Whether in school, on a trip, or on a computer, social networking in my opinion is always a good thing. If a person has a important idea and perhaps might need some business partners to help bring his or her idea to fulfillment what a wonderful opportunity to broadcast it on the Internet, word of mouth, or placing an ad in a newspaper. It took more than one person to make this world go around.

school web page!
When I heard that we had to create a class home page builder, I was at first a little frightful. I did not know exactly what I was getting my self into. I thought I will need so much assistance with the project. However I actually liked the whole set up of things. It was not stressful. When it came down to downloading images, inputing information and logging in and logging out, I was amazed at how simple it really was. I enjoyed this project!

Web based Educational Resources
The kids inside of my classroom love starfall.com. This web based educational resource is perfect for the classroom during center time and it is also fascinating to the children. It helps children to build their reading skills all along while catering to one or more of the children's intelligences. For example, while reading the words or pronouncing vowels the children can sing along to one of the songs while gaining the concept that needs to be mastered. I also like the fact of while the computer reads a word, that particular word is highlighted. This lets the child know that is the word that is being pronounced.
This also builds the child's computer skills up on the computer.

Inspiration
I wonder who came up with the term inspiration to express the concept of a software that allows students and teachers the opportunity to create visual representations of any type of relationship. Whomever it was, it is an amazing representation and great name for it. It is believe that most people are visual learners and if that is true, this representation which is sometimes called webs or flowchart can work wonders for children who strongest intelligence might be visual/ spatial. This demonstration can be used by teachers to explain a relationship or used by students to show understanding of a relationship. How great it is to use Inspiration inside of a classroom!

Webquest
I am fascinated with the fact that teachers get the opportunity to create ideas using web quest that get students to think outside the box. It includes cooperative learning for children, different areas of media, and current events. Although there is a certain format for web quest that a teacher must follow like the introduction, task, evaluation, process, and conclusion, web quest is one learning tool that students get a chance to be included in real life experiences based on the assignments his or her teacher creates.

Internet Safety
Major change does not usually take place unless something devastating happens in a person's life or something tragic occurs. It should not take a child to go missing in, or getting physical abused, in order for a parent to realize that Internet safety is prevalent. Parents should educate themselves on Internet safety and talk with their children as well. They should also be certain blocks that should prohibit children from certain websites.

Believe it or not!
We live in a age where technology is growing rapidly but believe it or not I never knew that standards and strands existed for technology and computers. You would think that certain things would have to be mandated or else it would not be implemented. Although it looks good it print as far as at the end of grade four that the fourth grader should be able to use basic technology vocabulary and use basic computer icons but must of this is not being enforced at home or at school giving the circumstances for which I work. So that lets me know that even though it is suppose to be implemented some school districts all not following what they are suppose to do. Or perhaps it is just my school district cant speak for all.

Very fascinating Facts!
Unlike all others key theorist, Howard Gardner is one of theories who is still alive. For those of you who are unaware, Howard Garnder intoduced the nine innate capabilities ( with more under study). This nine include lingustic, spatial, bodily- kinesthetic, logical- mathematical, musical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, naturalist intelligence, and existential intelligence. Accorging to Garnder's theories, every individual possesses some degree of each of the intelligences he details but one or more of the intelligences dominates. In addition, if any one of the intelligences is of significant capacity, the result is a prodigy in that area. What is your strongest intelligence or intelligences???????
